TubeTrack

Terms of use

Version 2026-10-25

1. What this is

TubeTrack is a personal, non-commercial, self-hosted service run by the person who runs this TubeTrack instance (the operator) for themselves, friends and family. It is not a product or a business, and there is no fee.

By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account.

2. Transport for London

TubeTrack is not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by Transport for London (TfL).

The Tube map artwork is © Transport for London and is shown only as a background for your own journeys. The network data (lines, stations, routes) comes from TfL's open data: Powered by TfL Open Data; contains OS data © Crown copyright and database rights. Both remain subject to TfL's own terms and conditions, not these terms.

Routes, times and statistics shown by TubeTrack are worked out by this app and may be wrong. Do not rely on them for travel planning, fares or refunds.

3. Your data and privacy

What is stored: your username, email address and a hash of your password (never the password itself); the journeys you log (stations, times, the route and the carriage if you give one); friend requests and friendships; feedback you send; and when you last signed in and last used the app.

Location: Near Me uses your device's location only in your browser to find the closest station. It is not sent to or stored on the server.

Friends see only aggregates (totals, lines and stations ridden, comparisons), never your individual journeys or times.

Admins see usage totals per account (such as the number of journeys and when you last used the app), not your journeys. They can reset your password, which signs you out and asks you to choose a new one, and they read feedback you send.

The operator runs the server and its database, so can technically see everything stored there; they should look at it only to run the service or fix a problem.

Your data stays on the operator's server. It is not sold or shared, and there are no adverts or third-party trackers. Your browser keeps a copy of some pages, and of journeys not yet synced, on your device.

To have your account and journeys deleted, ask the operator.

4. Acceptable use

Use TubeTrack for your own journeys. Do not try to get into other people's accounts, break or overload the service, scrape it, or use it for anything unlawful. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account.

Invite codes are for people you know. Feedback must not contain anything abusive or other people's personal data.

5. Ending your account

The operator may suspend or delete any account, or shut the service down, at any time and without notice, for example after misuse. You can stop using TubeTrack at any time and ask for your account to be deleted.

6. No warranty

TubeTrack is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, have bugs or lose data. Keep your own copy of anything important.

7. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of TubeTrack, including lost data, missed trains or decisions made from its figures. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes to these terms

The operator may change these terms. The version and date are shown at the top of this page. Continuing to use TubeTrack after a change means you accept the new terms.

9. Contact

Questions, requests to delete your data, or complaints: contact the person who runs this TubeTrack instance (the operator), or use Report a bug / Request a feature in Settings.
